Frequently Asked Questions

Standard torsion springs are rated for about 10,000 cycles — roughly 7–10 years with average use (2–4 opens per day). High-cycle springs rated at 25,000–100,000 cycles are available and are worth the upgrade if you use your garage frequently.

We strongly advise against it. Torsion springs are under extreme tension — a spring that snaps during installation can cause serious injury. This is one of the few garage door repairs that genuinely requires a trained technician with the right tools.

Grinding usually points to worn rollers, a dry chain or belt drive, or debris in the tracks. Start by lubricating the rollers, hinges, and drive with a silicone-based spray (not WD-40). If the noise persists, the rollers may need to be replaced.

Installed prices vary widely based on material, insulation, and style. A standard steel raised-panel door typically runs $800–$1,500 installed. Carriage house and custom designs can range from $1,500–$4,000+. Call us for a free on-site estimate — we'll give you an exact number with no surprises.

If the door is structurally sound and the panels aren't severely damaged, repair is almost always the better value. We'll give you an honest assessment — if a repair costs more than 50% of a new door, we'll tell you and explain why replacement makes more sense.

Yes — we offer same-day spring replacement and most common repairs across all six counties. For emergency calls (door stuck open, won't close, broken cable), we dispatch technicians 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
